Insider Las Vegas Tips - The Best Poker Rooms in Vegas
When I travel to Sin City, I scope out a new casino so I can get a good feel for where the best poker rooms in Las Vegas are. I love everything Las Vegas has to offer, but nothing beats an afternoon of having unsuspecting tourists shipping pots to me left and right before going out to my favorite clubs to party like I'm still in college. If you are traveling to Sin City with the intent of testing your skills at the poker table, here are some Vegas poker tips that will help you decide where to play.
What are the best poker rooms in Las Vegas?
Because everyone has a different taste, this is a list of my favorite rooms without listing them in any specific order:
Bellagio

Rio

Caeser's Palace

Venetian

Golden Nugget

Wynn
I have a special place in my heart for the Wynn because that is the first place I ever won much money playing cards out in Vegas. Plus, the room is very nice, has comfortable chairs, and plenty of different games going at almost any time of the day. If you are hoping to run into some of the top poker pros on your trip, the Bellagio is a great place to play cards. You never know - you just might end up at a table with Scotty Nguyen or one of the other legends of the game.
For those preferring to play tournament poker on their vacation:
There are so many poker tournaments in Vegas daily at a wide range of buy-in levels. Many casinos have tournaments running multiple times a day.
The best daily high-priced buy-in poker tournament in Vegas is at the Bellagio. This starts at 2:00 PM and has a buy-in of $540. There are satellites to this tournament that start at 9:00 AM. The buy-in for this is $130.
The best daily cheap poker tournament is at Binion's Horseshoe and Casino on Fremont Street. It starts at 10:00 AM and has a $50 buy-in. Binion's, of course, is formerly the home of the World Series of Poker so if you stop in there you will get to see the WSOP Wall of Fame.
As I stated above, everyone has their own preferences, and I strongly recommend venturing into at least a couple of different card rooms on your trip. However, from my experiences, I feel that the 6 casinos I listed above are the best poker rooms in Vegas for cash games. They all feature a wide range of games and levels, decent daily tournaments, comfortable chairs, and enough bad poker players to make some money. Poker isn't everything Las Vegas has to offer, obviously, but these Las Vegas tips should help make your card room selections a little easier once you make your trek to Sin City.
